Camp Nurse Jobs
Camp Nurse Jobs

One of the great things about being a nurse is
the career flexibility inherent in the profession. And while it may be
a stretch to say you can get paid to take a vacation, camp nurse jobs
come pretty close!
There are nursing jobs in California, nursing
jobs in Pennsylvania, nursing jobs in Hawaii. And by taking advantage
of the camp nursing opportunities, you don't even have to move there
permanently. All you need is the flexibility to temporarily, (usually
2-4 months) relocate to any of a large variety of vacation
locales.
Yes, you still work but there is a big
difference between the intensity of a city hospital and the daily
excitement of working with vacationing children in exotic places.
So let's say you take the plunge and accept a
camp nursing job in California. What can you expect? Like nursing jobs
everywhere it will be work. You will probably be "on call" more than
usual and camp nurse jobs entail a lot of first aid. The young people
attending these camps are generally active and while the facilities
are safe it is only normal that there will be accidents and
insects.
One of my friends had a camp nursing job in
Pennsylvania last Summer. The job was for ten weeks and she reported
wonderful weather, a fun staff and a beautiful setting. She said it
was as much fun as it was work. "The kids were, for the most part,
wonderful. Often when they came to see me they were nothing more than
a little homesick. I perfected my bedside manner. Maybe camp nurse
jobs aren't for everyone but for me it was a great interlude and the
kids were worth every bit of my effort!"
All camp jobs are not out in the
wilderness. Another of my friends got a nursing job in California at a
sports camp. He said it was pretty much 9 to 5 and he had the weekends
to explore the mountains and beaches of California.
So whether you want to visit the more rustic
environs of New Hampshire, Vermont or Maine or want to soak up the
sunshine of California there is probably a camp nursing job that fits
your needs. (I even heard of a surfing camp in Santa Cruz,
California).
It could end up being the most memorable
Summer of your life.
(Nursetown.com has camp nursing jobs posted for
camps all over the US and Canada. We add new positions daily so check
back in often. If you're looking for that nursing job in Pennsylvania
or the camp nursing job in California, we probably have it.)
